1. 개요
Canvas는 미국의 인스트럭쳐(Instructure)에서 개발한 오픈 소스 학습 관리 시스템으로 2019년부터 기존 강자 블랙보드를 밀어내고 전세계 대학들에서 가장 많이 사용되는 학습 관리 시스템에 오른 소프트웨어이다.2024년 가을 기준, 미국 대학교에서의 점유율은 1위 Canvas(41.7%), 2위 Blackboard Learn(19.9%), 3위 Moodle(12.8%), 4위 Brightspace(12.1%), 5위 Sakai(1.2%)로 나타났다. 출처

학생을 위한 주요 기능으로는 온라인 진도추적, 공지확인, 성적확인, 과제제출, 토론, 파일 업로드/다운로드, 문서뷰어, 알림 등이 있고 교육자를 위한 주요 기능으로는 각 학생 진도 확인, 공지, 채점, 과제생성, 토론생성, 페이지/모듈 생성 등이 가능하고 Turnitin[1]과 같은 외부 프로그램과 연동하여 사용할 수 있다.
