1. 개요

1970년 영국에서 개봉한 스포츠 영화 〈더 게임스〉 삽입곡이며, 가장 희귀한 엘튼 존의 싱글들 중 하나이다.

2. 희귀 싱글

엘튼 존은 노래만 불렀고 작곡과 작사는 프랑스의 작곡가 프랑시스 레와 남아프리카 공화국 출생의 작곡가 할 셰퍼가 맡았다.[1] 엘튼 존이 데뷔 초기였던 1968년부터 1970년까지 다양한 음반들에 참여하여 백 보컬과 건반 연주를 맡거나 히트곡들을 커버하는 세션 뮤지션으로 활동했을 때 녹음한 곡이다.[2]

바이킹 레코드가 이 곡을 싱글로 발매했을 때 음반에 엘튼 존을 '엘튼 존스(Elton Johns)'라고 잘못 표기했고, 엘튼 존이 1967년부터 10년 정도 소속했던 영국의 음반사 DJM 레코드의 회장 딕 제임스의 요구로 판매를 중단했다고 한다.[3] 판매 중단 전에 발행된 소량의 싱글들은 매우 희귀한 싱글로 꼽히고 있다.

싱글 B면에 수록된 "Warm Summer Rain"이라는 곡은 같은 영화 삽입곡이며, 같은 작곡가들이 곡을 썼다. 엘튼 존이 노래를 부르지 않았고 1970년 정규 2집 Elton John에서 백 보컬과 성가대로 참여한 성가대 지휘자 바바라 무어와 그룹 '바바라 무어 싱어스(Barbara Moore Singers)'가 불렀다.[4]
