1902년 9월 1일, 노스캐롤라이나주에서 태어났다.[A] 본명은 제임스 시몬스다.[2] 1929년 10월 13일, 버지니아주 리치몬드에서 2곡을 녹음했다. 같은 세션에서 버블링 오버 파이브 (The Bubbling Over Five) 의 멤버로 녹음에 참여했다.[3][4] 그의 음반은 하모니카의 연주 기법인 오버벤드 (Overbends) 가 최초로 담겨있는 음반이라고 한다.[5]녹음 당시 버지니아주 노퍽에서 살고 있었다.[6] 1983년 1월, 버지니아주 리치몬드에서 사망했다.[A]
