1. 개요

미국 알래스카주의 플래그십 주립대학.

현지 영문명으로는 University of Alaska Fairbanks로, 줄여서 UAF라고 표기한다. 한국어로는 '알래스카 대학교 페어뱅크스 캠퍼스', '알래스카 대학교 페어뱅크스' 혹은 '알래스카 페어뱅크스 대학교'로 번역된다.

2. 상세

1917년에 설립된 알래스카주 내 최초의 대학으로, 현재 알래스카 대학교 시스템의 플래그십 주립대학으로 평가된다. 다만 시설 규모와 학생 수로는 1954년에 처음 설립된 앵커리지 캠퍼스(University of Alaska Anchorage)보다 작은 편.

1917년 개교 후 1922년에 최초 강의가 개설 되었다. 최초 명칭은 Alaska Agricultural College and School of Mines였으며, 1935년에 University of Alaska로 명칭이 변경 되었다.

페어뱅크스시에 위치한 Fairbanks Troth Yeddha' 캠퍼스와 총 6개의 지역 캠퍼스를 포함하고 있다.[2]
