1. 개요
1980년 발매된 영국의 헤비메탈 밴드 블랙 사바스의 9번째 스튜디오 앨범. 블랙 사바스의 명반이나 헤비메탈 장르 전체의 명반을 뽑을 때 빠지지 않을 명반이다. 오지 오스본 탈퇴 이후 로니 제임스 디오가 참여한 첫 블랙 사바스 음반이며 앨범 녹음 이후 원년 드러머 빌 워드가 잠시 밴드를 떠나게 된다.2. 상세
1979년 알코올 의존증 등 자기관리 부족을 이유로 오지 오스본이 쫓겨났다. 그러자 블랙 사바스의 매니저였던 돈 아덴(Don Arden)의 딸인 샤론 아덴(Sharon Arden)이 레인보우를 탈퇴했던 디오를 영입하는데 성공했다. 발매 이후 엄청난 성공을 거두었으며, 기존 멤버들의 연주력도 돋보였지만 새로운 보컬리스트인 로니 제임스 디오의 가창력 또한 많은 찬사를 받았다.2010년 디럭스 에디션으로 재발매되었다.
기존 블랙 사바스 앨범들과는 달리 묵직하고 둔탁한 색체가 많이 옅어졌으며, 그 대신 막 유행하기 시작한 NWOBHM 시대에 맞춰서 펑크 락의 영향을 받은 직선적인 느낌의 메탈로 탈바꿈된다
