1. 개요

대한민국의 ThinkPad 사용자 커뮤니티이다. 2025년 현 시점 국내 ThinkPad 관련해서 활성화 되어 있는 유일한 커뮤니티이다.
이름의 뜻은 TP(ThinkPad) Holic. 여기에서 TP라고 하면 ThinkPad를 지칭한다.

2. 역사

2001년 IBM사의 ThinkPad 기기의 사용자 모임인 IBMMania(IBM매니아)에서 시작되었다. 설립자는 '귀신(닉네임)'. 초창기부터 활동한 회원들은 "매니아" "매냐" 등의 약칭으로 부르기도 한다. 노트기어에 소개된 초창기 IBMMania의 정모 모습

2007년 경 ThinkPad 브랜드를 Lenovo가 인수한 이후 IBMMania라는 명칭을 계속해서 사용하는 것은 적절치 않다는 판단에 ThinkMania[3]로 명칭이 변경되었다. 이 때 사이트 소유권이 '달려라240'에게 이전되었다.

2009년 TPHOLIC으로 재개편되었으며 2011년 사이트 소유권이 D.I.Y.King에게 이전되었다.

2017년 운영 중단 사태 이후 네이버 카페 TP홀릭 카페로 회원들이 대거 이동하며 커뮤니티가 양분되었다. 현재 기존 TPHolic 사이트는 서비스가 중단된 상태이며 네이버 카페만 정상적으로 운영되고 있다.

2018년 3월 6일 회원 수 3,000명을 돌파하였다.

2023년 2월 23일 카페 매니저가 '밤하늘TM'으로 변경되며 운영진에 변화가 있었다. 기존 매니저인 Mr팬더는 2023년 7월에 운영진으로 재합류.

2023년 11월 기준 회원 수 14,000명을 돌파하였다.

2024년 10월 회원들의 개인 소장 ThinkPad를 제공받아 JN테크리뷰와 ThinkPad 리뷰 영상을 제작했다. 영상링크

2024년 10월 기준 회원 수 15,000명을 돌파하였다.

2024년 11월 TPHolic 스티커를 제작, 공동구매를 진행했다. 부착 후기

2025년 10월 기준 회원 수 17,000명을 돌파하였다.

3. 특징

ThinkPad 및 IT장비 사용 지름 을 주제로 한 게시물들이 주로 올라온다. 또한 같은 'Think' 브랜드를 공유하는 ThinkCentre, ThinkStation, ThinkServer, ThinkStation, ThinkBook 브랜드의 제품들도 함께 다루고 있으며 최근에는 레노버 제품군이 다양해지다보니 ThinkPad 외에도 IdeaPad, Flex, Yoga, Legion 등 레노버 내 타 랩탑/PC 브랜드 제품들에 대한 글들도 많이 올라오는 편이다.

IBM 시절의 ThinkPad 사용자 모임에서 출발했다보니 현 시점에선 구하기도 어려운, 당시에 출시된 구형 ThinkPad 관련 정보가 특히 잘 정리되어 있다.

출시된 지 10년이 넘은 x220 으로 해킨토시를 시도한다거나, 하우징을 깎아내고 13인치 디스플레이나 7열 키보드를 이식한다거나(...), 심지어는 산업용으로 출시된 CPU(ex. i7-3615qe)를 장착해서 요즘 노트북 못지 않은 성능을 내는 마개조를 하는 실력자들도 존재한다.

최근 들어 자가수리 용이성이 많이 떨어졌지만, 여전히 ThinkPad는 Aliexpress, ebay 등지에서 관련 부품을 수급하고 교체하기가 편리하다 보니 관련 정보의 공유가 활발하다.

주 이용 연령대는 30~50대 남성 직장인이다. ThinkPad 브랜드가 과거부터 비즈니스 머신으로 명성이 자자하다 보니, 오래 전부터 ThinkPad 브랜드를 사용한 경험이 있고, 변호사, 교수, 컨설턴트, 기계/제품 설계, 개발자 등 전문영역에 종사하는 회원들이 많아 관련 내용으로 대화가 이루어지기도 한다. 10대와 20대의 회원들은 상당히 젊은 축에 속하는 편.

비정기적으로 디지탈노뜨, 웨이코스 등 레노버 총판을 통한 구형 모델 또는 악세사리류의 재고떨이 공동구매가 이루어지기도 한다. 사양과 공동구매 가격만 보자면 애초에 ThinkPad 자체가 저렴한 랩톱은 아니기에 일반 사용자 입장에선 메리트가 크지 않지만 X1 Carbon 등 빌드 퀄리티가 괜찮은 1~2세대 전 모델을 꽤 저렴하게 영입할 수 있기에 특정 모델들은 순식간에 마감되어버리기도 한다.

중고장터가 활성화 되어 있다. ThinkPad에 애착을 가진 회원들이 많은 만큼, 상태가 좋은 ThinkPad나 관련 악세사리, 파츠류를 저렴하게 구할 수 있다.

4. 논란 및 사건사고

4.1. TPHolic(구 홀릭) 사유화 및 운영중단 논란

2011년, 전 운영자인 '달려라240'이 개인적인 사정과 자금 문제로 운영을 중단한 후, D.I.Y.King이라는 랩탑 수리업자가 서버 운영비를 부담하는 조건으로 사이트를 인수했다. 그러나 사이트 배너와 게시판에 그의 영업 관련 문구가 포함되면서, 상업적 목적이 아니냐는 의혹이 제기되었고, 이를 둘러싸고 회원들 간에 갈등이 발생했다. 일부 회원들은 기존 도메인(ibmmania.com) 기반으로 신규 사이트를 개설했으나 현재 운영이 중단된 상태다.

2017년 11월, 사전 공지 없이 약 두 달간 운영이 중단되었고, 이에 불만을 가진 회원들이 네이버 카페(현재의 TPHolic)로 대거 이동했다. 운영자는 복구 후 건강상의 이유를 밝혔으나, 회원들의 불만을 달갑지 않게 여기는 듯한 공지로 논란이 확산되었다. 또한, 중고장터에서 판매 완료 시 판매자의 개인정보가 노출되는 문제가 발생하면서 해킹 의혹과 개인정보 유출 우려가 제기되었으나 이에 대한 운영진의 공지로 한 차례 더 논란이 있었다. 아래는 공지의 해당 부분. 전문 캡쳐

한 가지 더 말씀드리자면 홀릭이 무슨 유료사이트도 아니고 본인이 스스로 들어와서 와서 본인이 자율적으로 올린 개인정보 가지고 그게 유출이 되네 어쩌니 마치 무슨 큰 죄인 같은 취급 받는거 달갑지 않습니다. 그리고 덧붙이자면 혹시나 회원탈퇴시에 자신의 글이 남아 있는게 싫으시면 알아서 전부 삭제하시고 가시길 바랍니다. 나중에 와서 개인정보법이 어쩌니 뭐니 들먹이면서 삭제 요청하시는 것도 별로 입니다. 실제로 보면 대부분이 개인정보 같지도 않은 글이 더군요.

5. 여담

구 홀릭 시절 스마트기기용 전용 앱이 있었다. 현재는 이용 불가.
레노버 직원이 상주하며 할인쿠폰 지급 등 회원들을 위한 행사를 상시 진행한 적이 있다. 현재는 레노버 공홈에서 채팅으로 별도 문의시 할인코드를 발급해 준다.

ThinkPad 25주년 기념 에디션을 국내에서 유일하게 추첨 방식으로 판매하였다. #

2022년 8월, 일부 Thinkpad와 호환되는 울트라독(도킹스테이션)을 7만원 후반대(소비자가 20만원대)에 공동구매를 진행한 적이 있다. 중고 가격을 감안해도 공동구매 가격이 상당히 파격적이었던지라 호환되는 ThinkPad 노트북을 갖고 있지 않으면서도 공동구매에 참여한 유저들이 많았다. 그리고 이후에 도킹에 호환되는 노트북을 추가로 구매했다고(...) ~~괜히 수집카페라고 부르는 것이 아니다.~~
