Secret Cat Forest is a casual/idle healing game developed and published by Ideasam. The development of Secret Cat Forest was influenced by Ideasam's previous work with educational apps and games.
The game was released in 2020 so cat owners and non-cat owners could experience the joy of raising a new cat.
To this day, the game has been loved by many.
2. About the Game
2.1. Development/Inspiration
Four of the eight team members were cat owners when development started. One of the designers fell in love with a game called Neko Atsume and suggested making a similar game.2.2. Game Features
Players are not forced to watch advertisements, complete missions, or grind levels.The game must be turned off to attract cats. This unique healing point prevents over-immersion.
In order to collect the cats, you need to become familar with their characteristics and secrets.
Some special cats don't even have shadows in the scrap book, adding to the fun of figuring out their secrets.
2.3. Origin of the Title
Secret Cat Forest is named after Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. (However looking just at the name one may have guess it was named after Secret Forest.)A list of about 70 potential names was made like "Cat House," "Cat Hut," "Cat and the Attic," and "Secret Cat Hut." The team members then voted on the best name.
2.4. Gameplay
2.4.1. General Flow
* Furniture (props) cats like need to be made.
* Furniture (props) is made by combining wood, screws, and various items.
* On the left screen, Wood and Fish can be collected.
* Simply touch the Infinity Tree in the moddle to collect Wood and the tree will regrow over time.
* Catch a fish when it enters the red gauge by tapping the fish after pressing the fishing rod.
* Check the cat collection conditions in the pircure book screen on the far right.
2.4.2. How to Attract Cats
* Cats only come when the game is turned off* Make sure there are plenty of fish
* Make furniture (props) that cats like.
