영국의 밴드 오아시스의 13번째 싱글이자, 3집 Be Here Now의 10번째 트랙, 이 앨범에서 세 번째로 싱글 컷된 곡이다.
발매 당시 UK 싱글차트 1위에 올랐다. 그리고 2015년까지 영국에서 발매된 싱글 중 가장 긴 곡(9분 38초)이었다.[2]

3. 여담
- 사실 이 곡은 오아시스가 첫 앨범을 발표하기도 전에 작곡되어 있었던 곡이지만(1992년 당시 리허설에서 이 곡을 연주하고 있었다), 장대한 곡 구성과 오케스트라 세션을 필요로 하는 등 규모가 큰 곡으로 구상하고 있었기 때문에 밴드가 녹음할 수 있는 역량이 되기 전까지는 곡을 남겨두고 있었다고 전해진다.[3] 전체적인 음악 분위기가 비틀즈의 Hey Jude와 비슷하다. Whatever를 쓰기 전부터 써놨던 곡이며 원래는 12분짜리였다고 하는데, 실제로 Hey Jude 를 노리고 썼다고 한다. 곡 안에서 세 번의 키 체인지가 있는데 처음엔 B코드로 진행되다가 두번째로 C코드로 바뀌고 마지막 후렴에서부터 D코드로 키가 바뀐다.
- 비사이드인 Flashbax는 숨겨진 명곡으로 오아시스 특유의 낙천적인 가사를 담아서 외국 팬들이 좋아하는 곡으로 꼽는다. 원래는 앨범에 들어갈 곡이었으나 결국 뺐다고 한다.
Magic Pie 빼고 이걸 넣지... 이해할 수 없는 노엘의 선곡센스
- Champagne Supernova, Don't Go Away와 함께 오아시스 디스코그라피 사상 최악의 뮤직비디오로 회자되곤 한다. 약 빨고 만든 듯한 정신 나간 영상이지만 그래도 원 의도는 비틀즈의 Yellow Submarine에 대한 패러디라고 한다.
그런데 Yellow Submarine 영상도 정신 나갔기는 마찬가지노엘은 후에 발매되는 싱글 컴필레이션 앨범 Time Files...1994-2009의 수록 영상에서 이 곡의 뮤직비디오를 코멘터리하면서 "다시는 안 해"라며 신랄하게 깠다.
- 발표 전 멤버들은 이 곡에 대해 설레발을 상당히 많이 떨었었는데, 나온 곡은...그냥 그런 수준이었기 때문에 욕을 상당히 많이 먹었다. 3~4분이었어야 할 곡을 9분으로 늘여 놨다고도 욕을 먹기도 했고. 그러나 NME는 9분으로도 부족하다는 평을 내렸다.
이곡 멜로디 흥얼거리면 계속해서 반복하다가도 9분을 못채운다(?)
- 앨범에 실린 버전의 러닝타임은 9분 20초이고 페이드 아웃중에 다음 트랙인 It's Gettin' Better (Man!!)과 연결되지만 싱글에 실린 버전은 9분 38초로 페이드 아웃으로 끝난다.
- 2003년에 발표된 델리스파이스의 '고백'이 이 곡을 표절했다는 의혹을 받기도 했다.
- 미국의 가장 큰 이동통신회사인 AT&T의 광고 삽입곡으로도 사용되었다.
- 앨범커버에 나온 해변은 영국 잉글랜드 남부 도싯주 본머스 해변이다.
