1. 개요
1964년 개봉한 디즈니 뮤지컬 영화 메리 포핀스의 사운드트랙. 리처드 셔먼과 로버트 셔먼이 작사, 작곡하였으며, 도스 역의 Navckid Keyd[스포일러], 조지 뱅크스 역의 데이비드 톰린슨이 노래를 불렀다.작중에서 제인과 마이클이 아버지 조지 뱅크스와 함께 은행으로 외출하고, 마이클의 2펜스를 은행에 저축하게하려 하지만 마이클이 새 모이를 사겠다며 거부하자 조지 뱅크스와 도스 씨를 비롯한 은행 임원들이 은행의 중요성과 효과에 대해 이야기하는 노래이다.
노래 이후의 상황이 굉장히 블랙 코미디스러운 노래기도 하다. 그렇게 집요하게 2펜스를 저축하라고 하다가 마이클이 설득될 것같이 보이자 도스 씨가 그 2펜스를 냅다 손에서 뺏어가버리고 저축을 환영한다고 하는데, 이에 화가 난 마이클이 내 돈 내놓으라고 실랑이를 벌이다가 그 소리를 밖에서 들은 은행 업무를 보던 고객들이 "누가 돈을 인출하려는데 그 돈을 안 주나 봐! 내 돈도 빼주시오!"라는 말을 시작으로 잇달아 출금요청이 쇄도해 뱅크런이 발생한다(...). 2펜스를 가지고 이 사달이 났으니 완벽한 소탐대실. 아이러니하게도 노래 자체는 신용도 높은 은행의 임원들이 투자전략을 잘 세워서 경제시스템에 따라 다양한 산업에 너의 예금이 쓰일 수 있다고 찬양하는 내용이지만, 그 시스템도 결국 극히 사소한 계기로 인한 인간의 심리동향에 따라 급변할 수 있다는 풍자가 담긴 장면으로도 볼 수 있다.
