닥터 드레 2집 2001의 1번째 수록곡.
피처링진에는 Knoc-turn'al 과 에미넴이 훅으로 피처링하였다.
에미넴과 Knoc-turn'al이 훅 보컬을 같이 불렀다는 얘기가 있는데 사실이 아니다.
Knoc-turn'al는 훅을 불렀고 에미넴은 (The Watcher) 부분에서 속삭이는 부분만 참여했다.
그리고 에미넴은 이 노래를 자신의 버전으로 바꿔 부르는 버전을 냈다. 프리스타일로 불렀다.
이곡에서는 데스로우 레코드시절 닥터드레가 본인이 지켜봤던 이야기도들어있으며
Eazy-E와 2Pac 그의 죽음에 대해서도 말한다.
2. 기타
- 프랑스판에서는 4번째 싱글로 발매되었다.
- JAY-Z의 The Blueprint 2 앨범에서 The Watcher 2가 나왔다. 이 곡또한 닥터드레가 프로듀싱하였다.
- 국내에서는 래퍼 이센스가 자신의 믹스테잎 수록곡 '기권은 없다'의 비트로 사용한걸로 유명하다.
- Wild Wild West의 사운드 트랙에서도 사용되었다.
