메타크리틱 81점으로 좋은 평가를 받았다. 피치포크에서는 9.0으로 상당히 높은 점수를 부여했으며, 스핀에서는 이 음반을 "뛰어나고, 눈에 띄는" 작품이라고 평가하면서 호평했다.
과거의 EP들에 비해 덥스텝 스타일이 많이 희석되었기에 호불호가 갈렸지만, 앨범 자체는 큰 인기를 얻었다. 이 앨범을 통하여 James Blake라는 뮤지션 자체가 인디 신의 슈퍼스타가 되었다고 할 수 있을 정도로. 여러 의미로 2011년 한 해 동안 큰 화제를 불러일으킨 앨범이었다.
2010년 후반으로 가면서 뒤이어 등장한 얼터너티브 R&B 발전의 초석이 된 앨범 중 하나로 평가받기 시작했다. 전자음악과 소울의 결합, 특유의 보컬 샘플링 등이 해당 장르의 주요한 문법이 되었기 때문. 해당 장르 외에도 본 이베어등의 뮤지션이 이 음반에 영향받아 본격적으로 전자음악을 도입하는 등 파급력이 큰 앨범이다.
