1. 개요
전북특별자치도 진안군 정천면 월평리[1]에 위치했던 상수리나무와 소나무의 포합수. 대한민국의 천연기념물 (전)제85호였다.2. 상세
포합수란 서로 다른 나무가 하나로 연결되어 자라는 형태, 즉 연리목을 뜻하는 말이다. 진안 월평리 상수리나무, 소나무 포합수는 알려진 정보가 많지 않으나 자연적으로 소나무와 상수리나무가 연결되어 자라는 희귀성을 인정받아 천연기념물로 지정된 것으로 보인다. 이 나무는 오동리 마을 앞의 천변에서 자라고 있었다고 한다.하지만 이 나무는 1942년에 일어난 홍수에 떠내려갔다고 하며, 1962년에 천연기념물을 지정할 때도 소실을 이유로 재지정되지 않았다. 천연기념물 표석은 이후에 마을 주민 집의 마루 디딤돌로 쓰였다가 현재는 진안역사박물관에서 소장하고 있다고 한다.
현재 나무가 위치했던 장소는 2001년 용담댐 건설로 인해 수몰되었다.
